Who we are

A small Montana firm that does the unglamorous parts properly

Eco Sinergia was founded in Helena in 2016 by William Smith, after fifteen years of field and compliance work across the western states. The firm was built around a simple frustration: too many environmental reports were written to be filed, not to be used.

We are deliberately small. Every engagement is scoped, reviewed and signed off by the owner. When you call the number on this website during working hours, somebody who has been on your site answers it.

  • Principal-level review on every deliverable
  • Chain-of-custody discipline on every sample
  • Plain-English summaries alongside the technical appendices
  • Written scope, written assumptions, written exclusions

What we do

Six services, one standard of evidence

Each one can be delivered on its own or combined into a single programme with one point of contact and one reporting rhythm.

Environmental Site Assessment

Phase I and Phase II style due-diligence reviews for property transactions, refinancing and brownfield redevelopment.

Water & Soil Monitoring

Sampling programmes, discharge monitoring reports and long-term trend analysis for rivers, wells and industrial outfalls.

Waste Reduction & Circularity

Waste characterisation studies, diversion targets and supplier programmes that cut disposal cost as well as tonnage.

Renewable Energy Advisory

Feasibility screening, incentive stacking and procurement support for solar, wind, heat pumps and efficiency retrofits.

Training & Community Outreach

Practical workshops for staff, contractors and residents — delivered on site, in plain language, with materials you keep.

How we work

Five stages, no surprises

Scoping call

Thirty minutes, no charge. We establish what you actually need, what the deadline is, and whether we are the right firm. Sometimes we are not, and we say so.

Written proposal

A fixed scope, a fixed fee where the work allows it, a schedule, and an explicit list of what is not included. One page of substance, not twenty of boilerplate.

Fieldwork & data

Sampling, surveys, audits and interviews, run to documented procedures with laboratory partners we have used for years. You get progress notes, not silence.

Analysis & draft

We interpret the data, flag what is uncertain, and issue a draft for your comment before anything is finalised. Nothing goes to a regulator or a lender unread by you.

Delivery & walkthrough

A final report, the underlying data, and a live walkthrough with the people who have to act on it. Follow-up questions in the following ninety days are not billed.

In their words

What clients say

We do not publish logos without permission, and we do not invent praise. These are shortened quotes from written feedback, used with consent.

“The report was the first one our board actually read end to end. That is not a compliment I expected to give an environmental consultant.”

— Operations Director, regional food producer

“They told us one of the measures we were considering would not pay back. It cost them work and saved us money. We have used them ever since.”

— Facilities Manager, municipal campus

“Field crew showed up on time, in the weather, three seasons running. The data has never been questioned.”

— Project Lead, watershed partnership
